Dog Licenses

Dog Licenses should be renewed each year from January 1 until May 31. This year, the expiration of the 2025 tags has been extended to March 31, 2026 as the county is transitioning to using DocuPet to fulfill tags. As usual, tags should be renewed by June 1, 2026. June 2, 2026 delinquent prices will be in effect 

You can obtain your 2026 dog licenses at: https://www.oakgov.com/community/pet-adoption/dog-license. In order to obtain a license online, you must use a credit/debit card and have a current, original Certification of Vaccination for rabies signed by an accredited veterinarian.
 
For Oakland County residents that don't have access to order online:

• Print and fill out the attached form, include a copy of your current, signed Certification of Vaccination for rabies and a check, and mail as instructed.
  • Form: Dog License Mail-In Form - DocuPet
  • Forms can also be found in the City of Farmington Treasurer's Office if you do not have a printer.
