Call for artists: Submit your work for Farmington City Hall Art Program

With the assistance of the Farmington Area Arts Commission (FAAC), the City of Farmington is seeking submissions for its rotating art program located within City Hall in Farmington’s vibrant downtown district.  This exciting 2-year rotating art exhibit showcases the selected work gallery-style throughout the building… enhancing the atmosphere for City Hall visitors and employees.

City Hall location:
23600 Liberty St, Farmington, MI 48335 (downtown Farmington)

Expected Timeline:

  • August 1, 2025 - Application Deadline
  • September 1, 2025 - Artwork will be juried and artists will receive email regarding whether their art has been chosen.
  • End of September- Delivery of accepted artwork for the 2025-2027 exhibit will be scheduled.  Artists must deliver in person (no shipments of art will be accepted).
  • End of September - Installation
  • October 2025 – Art Opening

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Artists are invited to submit up to 5 original pieces for consideration.  All artwork must be of professional quality and if chosen, wired and ready to hang.
  • If the art is sold during the 2-year display period, the artist will retain 100% of the price but must give the City of Farmington a 14-day notice to find a replacement piece before removing artwork from City Hall.

Include the following for each piece being submitted:

1.       One Artwork Image (high quality, jpeg)

2.       Title of Piece

3.       Description (example: oil on canvas)

4.       Size/Dimensions

5.       Value of piece or NFS (not for sale)

By submitting your art for consideration, you certify that the artwork described in your application is that which will be on display and is completely your own work, in which you have sole rights for its display. If selected, you commit the work(s) for display for a period of two (2) years. You understand and accept that you are responsible for properly framing or preparing artwork for installation to protect from damage, including sunlight.

Artist also agrees to provide delivery and pick-up of item, with the exception of special circumstances in which transportation may be provided. If the item(s) should sell during the 2-year display term, the artist may keep 100% of the sale, but agrees to give the City of Farmington a 14-day notice before removing the artwork from City Hall. Artist also agrees that if accepted, will allow permissions for use of artist image(s) for promotion, unless notified otherwise by the artist.
