Farmington Public Safety fights fire at Farmington Plaza Apartments; three hospitalized, expected to recover

On Thursday, October 9, 2025, the Farmington Public Safety Department was dispatched to the Farmington Plaza Apartments, located in the 31000 block of Shiawassee St. for the report a of fire in an apartment.

Within minutes, Public Safety Officers arrived to find an active fire on the first floor and second floor apartments.  Mutual aid was requested from the Farmington Hills Fire Department, they responded to assist.  Initial fire crews knocked down the fire and found fire extension into the roof.  Three residents were transported to area hospitals and are expected to make a full recovery.

The Oakland County Fire Cause and Origin Team is assisting our investigators to determine how the fire started, and The Red Cross has been contacted to assist any residents who have been displaced by the fire.
