The City of Farmington announces that nominating petitions are available for individuals interested in running for one of three open seats on the Farmington City Council:

Candidate Petitions Now Available
Petitions for the nomination of candidates for three (3) seats on the Farmington City Council are now available at the Office of the City Clerk, located at:

23600 Liberty Street, Farmington, MI
Office Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Filing Deadline

All completed petitions and required documentation must be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

There will be no Primary Election. Qualified candidates will appear on the November 4, 2025 General Election ballot.

Voters will elect three (3) Councilmembers on a non-partisan ballot.

Candidate Qualifications

To be eligible for nomination, candidates must:

• Be a qualified, registered elector of the City of Farmington as of August 6, 2025, and maintain residency throughout the term of office.
• Have been a resident of the City of Farmington for at least one year.
• Not be in default to the City or any governmental unit in the State of Michigan.
• Submit petitions signed by no fewer than 50 and no more than 75 qualified, registered electors.
• Submit a completed Affidavit of Identity form.

Both the petition and the affidavit must be filed with the Clerk’s Office by 4:00 p.m. on August 6, 2025.
