First United Methodist Church parking lot reconstruction begins Sept. 15
Beginning on Monday, September 15th, 2025 (weather permitting) construction activites will start on the reconstruction of parking lot located in the northeast corner of the Thomas St and Warner St intersection. No road or driveway closures are currently anticipated to be necessary for this work, but large construction equipment and construction-related traffic in the area is expected to pick up for the job’s duration.
This work is unrelated to the Thomas and School Streets project which have been ongoing this summer and is expected to wrap up in the near future. Pending unforeseen circumstances and weather, it is anticipated that the reconstruction of this parking lot will be completed by the end of September 2025.
We anticipate that all businesses and residences will have normal access throughout the project. Please reach out with any questions, or needs, and be aware of construction equipment in the roadway when driving near the construction zone.
Please keep children and pets away from all construction operations. Construction activities, and the associated equipment that goes with it, is attractive to small children and can be dangerous. Please keep children away from the equipment, removals, mass grading, underground utility installation, hot/fresh asphalt, and wet concrete.
If you have any specific questions regarding the project, such as scheduling, parking or access, please call the City Public Works Department at (248) 473-7250, Mr. Austin Downie, Engineer for OHM, (734) 466-4437, or Mr. Russ Neffer, Construction Manager for Robertson Brothers, at (248) 282-1470.
