Water Main and Road Reconstruction Set to Begin on Thomas and School Streets
Beginning Monday, June 9, 2025, weather permitting, construction will begin on the Thomas Street and School Street Water Main and Road Reconstruction Project. This important infrastructure project will take place along Thomas Street (from Warner to School) and School Street (from Thomas to Grand River). Work is expected to be completed by the end of August 2025, pending weather and unforeseen conditions.
As part of the project, a new water main will be installed. Periodic and planned water service interruptions will be necessary for new service connections. Affected residents and businesses will receive advance notice ahead of any shutdowns or disruptions.
Please be aware that during construction, there may be temporary loss of driveway access. Notices will be distributed in advance of any planned disruptions, including alternate access instructions where needed. Unless otherwise notified, all driveways will remain accessible.
Residents and visitors are asked not to park on the street between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. during active construction hours. Drivers are also reminded to proceed cautiously and be mindful of construction equipment and workers within the project area.
For the safety of everyone, especially children and pets, please avoid all construction zones and equipment. Heavy machinery, underground work, and materials such as hot asphalt and wet concrete pose serious safety hazards.
