Robert Dix

Born in May, 1925 served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 – 1946 in World War II. He was honored with a World War Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal/Ribbon, an Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with four bronze stars; and a Navy Occupation Service Medal. In addition, he earned a 2-Star Philippine Liberation Ribbon and a Philippine Presidential Unit Citation.
He served as a fireman.
Robert Dix is the brother of Corporal Willis Dix, who also has a banner hanging in Farmington. The brothers lived on Grand River Avenue in Farmington where the Marathon Gas Station now stands on the corner of Power and Grand River.
